PhD researcher
My name is Viktor Decker, I am a PhD student in the CAREER team. I am particularly interested in understanding how social inequalities unfold over the course of people’s lives and how these inequalities are produced by educational decision and labor market processes. To examine these questions, I mainly rely on statistical models applied to longitudinal data. In the CAREER project, I study differences in labor market outcomes between vocationally and generally trained workers from a life-course perspective.
Before coming to Amsterdam, I studied social and educational sciences at University of Cologne and University College Dublin. During my Master studies in Cologne, I focused on sociological theory and empirical social research linked to career inequalities.
